Healthy Summer Snacks

I'm all about being healthy this summer and I want to stick by it. I want to prevent myself from regretting the snacks I eat in a moment of weakness, so I've stocked my fridge with fruit. I love fruit, but tend to forget about it when I'm hungry and just want a snack. So now I am trying to program myself to think "Eat the Fruit" when I want something to munch on. Here are a few different types of fruit that I have been snacking on during the Summer:

Watermelon
I never realized how much I love this summer fruit! I never knew much about it and its health facts. Did you know that watermelon is a great source of Vitamin-A and other antioxidants? Vitamin-A is very important. It helps you have healthy skin, healthy teeth, a good immune system, and good vision. Watermelon is also low in calories and full of electrolytes. Since this delicious fruit is full of water content, it is the perfect fruit to help quench your thirst during the hot Summer. My advice is stop by your local market or grocery store and pick yourself up a watermelon today! Enjoy :)
Blueberries
I have always been a fan of blueberries, ever since I can remember. It was one of the main fruits that I would eat with my breakfast every morning. Now I have decided to have blueberries as a summer snack. Blueberries are known to be the top fruit provider of antioxidants. Antioxidants help against oxidative damage in our bodies that can lead to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and other problems. Antioxidants can also strengthen your immune system. Blueberries are also said to help reduce belly fat, which means that this is a perfect summer fruit for those of you who wan that "perfect beach body".
Strawberries
Strawberries are another one of my favorites. This yummy fruit is also high in antioxidants. Some fun facts that I have heard about strawberries is that they help keep you vision clear, increase your memory, and can even lead to you having whiter teeth.
Kiwi
I love kiwi! Did you know that kiwi contains about the same amount of potassium that a banana does? Kiwi also contains Vitamin A, C, and E. It is said that kiwis can help improve asthmatic conditions, especially in children. Another fact is that it can help decrease the chance of getting colon cancer.

What I have been doing is making little fruit salads that include these fruits. They are perfect summer snacks and the combination tastes DELICIOUS!!

I want to hear about healthy summer snacks that you enjoy and any ideas that you want to share!
